The bear that made fluffy yarn feel possible

Uchenna the Fluffy Bear

Uchenna was Barb’s first crochet project made with fluffy yarn—and she remains her favourite. The yarn was beautiful, but its soft fibres made the working stitches difficult to see, especially with the small hook needed for a firm amigurumi fabric.

So Barb developed her own way of working with the fluffy yarn that allowed each stitch to stay visible as she crocheted. That little piece of problem-solving turned a challenging material into the soft, huggable bear she had imagined.

Four thoughtful testers explored the same fluffy-bear pattern in their own colours and styling, with Barb’s original pink Uchenna held at the heart of the collection.
